Zoé Fortier est une artiste multidisciplinaire fransaskoise originaire de Zénon Park en Saskatchewan. Elle reçoit un diplôme en nouveaux médias à l’Université de Saint-Boniface (MB) en 2009, et un double baccalauréat honorifique avec spécialisation en Anthropologie et Arts visuels à l’Université de la Saskatchewan en 2018. Elle est présentement étudiante de deuxième cycle dans le programme de maîtrise en anthropologie à l'Université Laval à Québec.

Sa pratique artistique est informée par la méthodologie de recherche ethnographique dans la production d’oeuvres installatives, ou performatives. Zoé s’intéresse aux enjeux reliés à la production, et l’évolution des notions de culture, d’identité, et de langue.

Celle-ci s’engage pleinement dans des initiatives de développement du milieu professionnel artistique francophone au Canada. Elle est co-fondatrice du collectif d’artistes Sans-atelier à Saskatoon (SK) (2012-2020), co-fondatrice du Réseau N.O., le regroupement des centres d’artistes et collectifs francophones du nord et de l’ouest canadien, et membre du comité exécutif de l’AGAVF (Association des groupes en art visuels francophones) de 2016 à 2020.

Zoé a exposé ses oeuvres dans le cadre d’expositions solo et de groupe un peu partout au Canada. En 2016 elle fait le saut vers le commissariat pour le projet RE:VISION, exposition en duo qui a fait la tournée des centres d’artistes autogérés et galeries francophones des prairies canadiennes. En 2017-2018 elle participe au projet La vie fragile, qui culmine dans une exposition de groupe au Centre AKA à Saskatoon (SK), et à la Galerie Luz à Montréal. En 2022 cette dernière prend part aux expositions Fait Main à la Galerie Louise-et-Reuben-Cohen de l'Université de Moncton, et Cultiver l’humilité | M8jagen piwihozw8gan du Centre Expression à Saint-Hyacinthe, Québec.

Zoé Fortier is an interdisciplinary Fransaskois artist, arts administrator and curator from Zénon Park, Saskatchewan. Her artistic practice utilizes ethnographic research methods in the production of installative or performative works. She holds a diploma in New Media Arts at the University of St. Boniface (MB), and a Double Honours degree in Anthropology and Studio Arts from the University of Saskatchewan. In 2018 she was granted the Outstanding Graduating Anthropology Student Award for the University of Saskatchewan, awarded by the Canadian Anthropology Society / La société canadienne d'anthropologie. She is currently undertaking a Masters program in Anthropology at the University Laval in Québec city, Canada.

Zoé has exhibited her work in solo and group exhibitions across Canada and completed an artist residency at OBORO Centre in Montreal, Québec, and for Fronda, in Pachuca, Mexico. In 2016 Zoé curated RE: VISION, a duo exhibition presented at artist-run centres in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. In 2017-2018 she participated in the project 'La vie fragile', which culminated in a group exhibition at AKA Artist-Run in Saskatoon, and at the Luz Gallery in Montreal in 2018. In 2022 Zoé contributed works to two group shows, including 'Hand-made' at the University of Moncton's Louise-et-Reuben-Cohen Gallery in New-Brunswick, and 'Cultivating Humility | M8jagen piwihozw8gan' at the Expression Centre gallery in St-Hyacinthe, Québec.


Zoé is fully committed to initiatives that develop the Francophone artistic professional community in Canada. She is the co-founder of the Francophone collective Sans-Atelier in Saskatoon (SK)(2012-2020), and the co-founder of the Réseau N.O. Network, consisting of Francophone artist-run centres and collectives in North-Western Canada. Zoé has served as a member of the Executive Committee of AGAVF (National Association of Francophone Visual Arts Groups) from 2016 to 2020. She has worked as an arts administrator, arts educator, and arts consultant since 2013.

Originaria de Saskatchewan, Canadá, Zoé Fortier es artista, gestora y curadora. Su práctica utiliza métodos de investigación etnográfica en la producción de trabajos de instalación y performance. Su trabajo explora cómo la cultura y el lenguaje sirven como herramientas interpretativas a la experiencia humana. Es graduada de Arte en Nuevos Medios y tiene una licenciatura en Antropología y Estudios del Arte, graduándose con honores. En 2018 ganó el premio Outstanding Graduating Anthropology Student de la Universidad de Saskatchewan y otorgado por la Sociedad Canadiense de Antropología.

Como parte de la minoría francófona en su región, Zoé es cofundadora del colectivo francófono Sans-Atelier donde lleva a cabo iniciativas de desarrollo en la comunidad artística dentro de su ciudad, Saskatoon. También es cofundadora de la Reseau N.O Network, que consiste de centros administrados por artistas francófonos y colectivos en el Noroeste de Canadá.
